How to personalise AI chat: mates, flirting and casual slang
Adjust MyFittys chat with Mates or Flirt settings and the Slang enabled switch. Use clear prompts for shorter replies, better banter and topic changes.
A good AI chat prompt explains the kind of conversation you want. “Be more natural” can mean many things: fewer questions, shorter messages, casual slang or less flirting. A specific preference gives the character a clearer direction.
MyFittys has saved Account controls for Mates or Flirt and casual slang. You can then use an ordinary chat message to explain the topic, pace or style you prefer. These controls shape generated conversation; they do not turn a fictional character into a real person.
Start with the relationship tone
When signed in, open Account and find Your connections. Men and Women each have a Mates or Flirt choice. Mates keeps the intended tone friendly. Flirt allows playful flirting and more romantic conversation. You can use the same setting for both groups or make different choices.
Choose the tone you actually want, rather than guessing from the profile photo. A male character can be a mate, and a female character can be a mate too. If you change a setting during a conversation, it applies to future replies without rewriting the earlier exchange.
Turn casual slang on or off
The Slang enabled switch in Account controls casual phrases and text shortcuts. With it on, the intended style can include words such as “buddy” and shortcuts such as “lol” or “tbh”. With it off, the Fittys are directed towards clear wording without slang. Wait for the saved confirmation before continuing.
Slang is a style preference, not a guarantee that every reply contains abbreviations. If a phrase is unfamiliar, ask what it means. You can also request “casual wording, but no abbreviations” in the chat if that is closer to your taste.
Use one clear instruction at a time
If a reply feels wrong, identify the thing you want to change. A short instruction is easier to follow than a long list that mixes tone, story details and several new questions. Try one of these examples:
- Shorter messages: “Keep the next reply to two short sentences.”
- Less interviewing: “React to my story first, then ask at most one question.”
- Friendly banter: “Keep it as mates. A little teasing is fine; no romantic pet names.”
- More thoughtful: “Skip the jokes for this reply. Ask a question about what mattered to me.”
- New topic: “Leave training aside. Let’s talk about films.”
These are suggested messages. Generated replies may need a correction, particularly when the chat already contains a different style. Our troubleshooting guide explains how to handle repetition or an off-topic answer.
Combine tone, topic and pace
A useful opening can have three parts: how you want the chat to feel, what you want to discuss and how much you want in each reply. For example: “Keep it friendly and casual. I want to talk about a good weekend away. Give me one idea at a time so I can react.”
For a fictional flirty scene, you could write: “Imagine a relaxed coffee date. Keep it lightly playful, use short dialogue and let me write my own responses.” Your messages should leave your actions and decisions under your control. See the romantic conversation guide for more non-explicit examples.
Know what is saved and what is a request
The Account controls are saved preferences once their confirmation succeeds. A request typed into the conversation is part of that exchange. Do not assume every instruction becomes a permanent Account setting or that the AI will recall it indefinitely.
Saved history and the context used to generate a reply are different. If an important preference gets lost, restate it briefly rather than sending a large transcript. Read how AI companion memory works for the practical limits.
Try your preferred style before subscribing
Use the five free daily messages shared across the site to try a personality and a clear style request. No sign-up is needed to start, while the saved Account switches require signing in. Avoid putting sensitive personal details into a prompt just to make a reply feel more personalised; read the privacy notice first.
Meet the Fittys and choose a topic you enjoy. If the conversation suits you, compare included characters and recurring prices on the packages page. You can enjoy friendly chat, light flirting or casual banter without needing the same style every day.
